Calíope Theresa Penelope Granger is starting college at University of Albuquerque (U of A). Also Calíope’s older sister, Cymbria is going to U of A, too. Calíope was at home getting ready for college with her older sister Cymbria when their mother Terri walked in. TERRI: Are you girls ready for your first day of college. CYMBRIA: I am for sure mom. I can’t wait to go. CALÍOPE: I’m just a little nervous. TERRI: Why are you nervous, Baby girl? CALÍOPE: Well I don’t know. I just am for some reason. CYMBRIA: Don’t worry sis. I will be there with you. CALÍOPE: Thanks, Cym. A few minutes later Calíope and Cymbria arrived at college. They got their schedule and found out that they have every class together. CYMBRIA: This is so cool. We have every class together. CALÍOPE: Yes I know I was hoping that would happen. As the two sisters were walking to their first class Calíope ran into another student. CALÍOPE: Oh I’m sorry I wasn’t watching where I was going. A MALE STUDENT: No, I’m sorry I wasn’t watching where I was going. When the two of them looked into each other’s eyes Calíope fell in love with him and he fell in love with her. A MALE: STUDENT: Hi, my name is Chad Danforth. CALÍOPE: Nice to meet you Chad. I’m Calíope Theresa Penelope Granger and this is my older sister Cymbria Olivia Emilie Granger. You can call me Callie or Cal. CHAD: Are you two new here? CALÍOPE: Yes we are. CHAD: Where did you move from? CALÍOPE: Los Angeles, California. They walked off in opposite directions. CYMBRIA: Sis, were you flirting with him or not? CALÍOPE: No I wasn’t. CYMBRIA: Cal? CALÍOPE: Ok, fine I was a little. CYMBRIA: You’re in love with him aren’t you? CALÍOPE: Yes I am, but I’m too shy to tell him. CYMBRIA: Why? CALÍOPE: What if he doesn’t feel the same way about me and what if he has a girlfriend already. CYMBRIA: I could talk to him for you and see what he says. CALÍOPE: Thanks, Cym. You can talk to him tomorrow at lunch. CYMBRIA: Why not today at lunch? CALÍOPE: I just don’t want to today. The rest of the day goes by and the sisters are at home. TERRI: How was your first day of college girls? CYMBRIA: It was great. Calíope couldn’t stop thinking about Chad. TERRI: How was your day Baby girl. CALÍOPE (snaps out of her daydream): It was great I met this really gorgeous college guy. TERRI: What’s his name? CALÍOPE: Chad Danforth. TERRI: I would like to meet him. CALÍOPE: Really? When? TERRI: How about tomorrow after school? CALÍOPE: Yeah? Sure? Later that night Calíope was in her bed dreaming about Chad. Chad is in his bed dreaming about Calíope. Chapter 2 Chad Meets Calíope’s Mom
The next day Cymbria and Calíope are at school walking to their first class when all of a sudden Calíope sees Chad but she tries to not make eye contact with him. Calíope and her sister Cymbria were just now walking into their Math Class. When Calíope saw her Math Professor she was shocked to see who it was. She walked over to him. CALÍOPE: Charlie Eppes, is that you? CHARLIE: Yes it is. Calíope Granger is that you? CALÍOPE: Yes it is, Charlie. CHARLIE: Calíope remember to call me Professor Eppes while in class. CALÍOPE: Yes I know that. Just then Chad walked into the classroom. CALÍOPE: Oh my gosh. CHARLIE: What? CALÍOPE: There’s Chad Danforth. I didn’t know he was in this class. CHARLIE: Well he is now. CALÍOPE: What do you mean by that? CHARLIE: He transferred in today. A few minutes later the bell rang and it was time to start the class. CHARLIE: Good morning class, I’m Professor Charlie Eppes. I transferred here from CalSci in Los Angeles, California. First of all I wasn’t here yesterday because I was working with my older brother Don. Speaking of which this Friday it’s going to be Career Day so I want you to bring in one or both of your parents. Calíope raises her hand and Charlie let’s her speak. CHARLIE: Yes, Calíope? CALÍOPE: I was thinking maybe you should bring your brother and father here on Friday and they can tell us what their jobs are. CHARLIE: I was thinking about doing that Calíope. Thanks for reminding me about that. CALÍOPE: You’re welcome, Professor Eppes. A few hours later it was lunch time. Calíope and Cymbria got their lunch and sat down at their table. Just then Chad walked over to them. CHAD: Hey, girls. CALÍOPE AND CYMBRIA: Hi, Chad. CHAD: Can I sit here with you? CALÍOPE: Sure you can Chad. CHAD: Thanks, Callie. CALÍOPE: You’re welcome, Chad. CYMBRIA: So Chad, my sister and I were wondering why you transferred into our Math Class? CALÍOPE: Yeah why did you? CHAD: Well I rather tell you about that later. CALÍOPE: Oh ok. By the way Chad how would you like to come over to our house today after school? CHAD: I would love to. Why? CALÍOPE: Well, my mom wants to meet you. CHAD: Ok? How does she know about me? CALÍOPE: I told her that Cymbria and I met a new friend yesterday and she asked who it was and I told her it was you. CHAD: That’s cool. Am I also going to meet your father? CALÍOPE: No, my dad will be at work when we get home for school. CHAD: Oh ok. When will I meet your dad? CALÍOPE: Friday durning Career Day. The rest of the school day goes by and Calíope, Cymbria and Chad are now at Calíope’s house. CALÍOPE: Mom, we’re home. Terri comes into the living room from the kitchen. TERRI: Hi, girls. Who’s your new friend? CALÍOPE: Mom, this is Chad Danforth. TERRI: Nice to meet you. CHAD: It’s nice to meet you too, Mrs. Granger. TERRI: Please call me Terri. CALÍOPE: By the way, Mom, Friday is Career Day in Math Class and Professor Charlie Eppes wants us to bring in one or both of our parents for Career Day and Cymbria are going to brig both you and dad. A few minutes later Chad had to go home. CHAD: Well I better go home now. I’ll see you tomorrow Callie. CALÍOPE: Yeah see you tomorrow, Chad. Before Chad walks out the door he turns around and gives a quick good-bye kiss to Calíope on the cheek then he left. After he left Calíope couldn’t believe that Chad kissed her on the cheek. CALÍOPE: I can’t believe he kissed me on the cheek. Later that night Calíope was in her bed dreaming about Chad, Cymbria was in her bed dreaming about still meeting her special someone. Chad was in his bed dreaming about Calíope.
